Triple A turns 3

Avery Alexander Alcala a.k.a Triple A, just turned 3 on April 10th. I can now say that I fully understand what people mean when they say "kids grow up so fast." It amazes me how quickly kids change and how in the blink of an eye they are walking and talking. How in the world is Avery getting ready to start preschool in the fall??? If someone can find out how to stop the clocks and slow down the calendar, please let me know!!! Below are pictures from his 3rd birthday party. Avery is a HUGE Toy Story fan, so that was the theme of his party this year. The Cake: Mommy, Daddy, Landon and........... birthday boy vanishes before the picture is taken.

Jamie (Avery's Godmother) and her 7 month old son, Jaxon.

Carol holds Landon since he is FINALLY awake....but Carol still has that touch and put him right back to sleep.

Avery cashing in his tickets to earn prizes at Coconuts....where his party was held. For those of you not aware of what Coconuts is......its a clean, smaller Chucky Cheese.....a child's heaven!!!

"Mom, take the picture quick, cause Im headin off to win more tickets."

Daddy watches and encourages Avery as he very clearly cheats at this game. (Chloe innocently stands by taking note of how to REALLY WIN this game.)

Pat (Avery's Godfather) and Rico pause from the arcades for a photo.

Ivette's turn to hold Landon Bradley.

Dawn and her two boys, Dylan and Kyle, arrive for the fun.

Daddy helps Avery pick out prizes.

Becca, Brianna, Jadyn and Avery cashing in MORE tickets.

The Entire Brester Family of four.

Next, it's Brianna's turn.

Avery and Becca coming down the slide.

Madison and Sawyer playin' a game together (such a sweet brother and sister combo)

Taylor and Toby, another brother/sister combo.

Spencer playing hide and seek in the jungle gym. (I think Avery secretly has a crush on her)

Pizza time.....although the kids INHALED their food so they could get back out and play.

Cake time.....the candles are lit, let's get ready to sing.

He seemed to enjoy the singing. In years past, he wanted NOTHING to do with it.

Licking the icing off the cake toppers. Needless to say, sugar was a main part of their diet that day.

Yummmmmmmmmm.......frosting!!!!

This little tike enjoyed the cake more than anything I've ever seen. Video footage would do this more justice than just a photo!!!

And, we're back at home opening gifts........SENSORY OVERLOAD!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVERY!!! You bring mommy and daddy so much joy!!!

Just some pics of the month of March!!!

Here are some miscellaneous pictures taken in the month of March. All is well in the Alcala household. Rico is keeping busy with work and I am keeping busy with 2 boys, trips to the park, playdates, doctors appointments and all that goes along with a newborn and a busy toddler. But don't fool yourself, I'm not THAT busy.....Landon is still in that phase where he sleeps...and then sleeps....and then when he's done doing that, he sleeps some more. (this baby sleeps ANYWHERE) A typical day for Landon: Eat, sleep, poop, pea. Eat, sleep, poop, pea. Life is easy!!! (asleep in pak n play) Meanwhile, Daddy and Mario take Avery to a Baltimore Orioles spring training game. They all 3 had a blast.

Did I mention that all he does is eat, sleep, poop and pea? (asleep in bouncy seat)

Oh look, he's awake!!! He is already 1 month old. Hey clock, could you slow down please!!! (awake in crib)

Watching daddy play softball on Sundays are always a lot of fun!!!

Here's a new concept: Landon sleeping!!! (asleep on boppy) as he bears his big, bulgy, chest!!!

Some more pics from Landon's arrival

Below are some more pictures of Landon's arrival. These pictures aren't necessarily on the "serious" side. But, considering who's involved.....what do you expect?

Papa holds Landon after Avery covers him in stickers...."No need to remove them, I can still see."

Notice the little hand reaching up to add MORE stickers. "There's always room for one more."

Avery goofing off in the waiting room. In the meantime, Landon is making his grand entrance into the world.

"Alright, I'll sit still for a minute, but this baby better get here soon."

"Is this where this blue 'mask looking thing' goes?"

Waiting to get the "ok" to come in and get this party started!!!
And...........we have now begun our life together as a family of four. Things couldn't be going smoother and we couldn't be happier.

Some Pics of the Holidays!!!

The Christmas season has come and gone quicker than we could ever imagine. We kep telling ourselves it will fly by, so let's enjoy EVERY minute of it. We did just that. Mimi and Papa were here for the holidays. We feel very fortunate that they're able to spend the Christmas with us and share the excitement that we experience each year, especially now that Avery is getting older and a new baby coming.

Christmas morning - excited to see what Santa brought. Yes, Avery is enjoying a sucker at 7:30 Christmas morning while he realizes there is a John Deere Gator in our living room.

"Wow, this thing is cool.....let me test drive it in the house, shall I?"

The best shot of a "family photo". (The nerve of us to try and pull Avery away from the gifts)

Avery, Mimi and I enjoy lunch at Cha Cha Coconuts while Rico and Papa play ANOTHER round of golf.

New Years Eve. Daddy is working so Mimi and Papa take Avery and Mommy to dinner. Avery makes a great date.

Jadyn and Avery's Gift Exchange!!!

Another Christmas tradition.....BFFs exchange gifts. These 2 are like peas in a pod and watching them together whether it be riding bikes, sharing (or not sharing) bubbles, opening gifts or having lunch is truly hilarious and sweet all at the same time. Right before Christmas we get together with the Bresters for Christmas dinner and to open gifts. In past years, it has been the adults getting together, throwing back several cocktails and opening gag gifts from each other. As times have changed, we get together, have a nice meal, enjoy a cocktail or 2 and watch the kids open gifts. It has only gotten better (and more sober).

Quietly, shyly opening gifts timidly from one another........

"Wow, an easy bake oven. Can we bake NOW?"

"Avery, you are taking too long. Let me help you."

Avery still in awe over his silly bands......

Jadyn shows Avery his new Cars fun pack.
Oh what fun it is. However, it is approximately 2 weeks after Christmas and both kids are still asking for "more presents".
